A package of accessories from the Czech maker Hauler for the kit of the British light tracked carrier in 1:48 scale. In the package there is no model but parts that are fitted to a kit you have already bought. On a vehicle with an open body such a package makes especially good sense, because the inside is in view and every simplified plastic detail is before the eye on a finished model. Go through the contents of the package once you have unwrapped it.
The Bren Carrier belonged to the family of British light tracked carriers designated collectively as the Universal Carrier. It was a small vehicle open at the top, with armor that protected the crew against fragments and infantry fire, and with the engine placed in the middle of the body. The vehicle carried machine-gun sections, towed light guns and served for reconnaissance, communications and supply. It was produced in large numbers in Britain and in the countries of the Commonwealth and was used by the armies of many states; it got its established name from the Bren light machine gun the crews carried.
With an open vehicle the order of the work decides everything. Finish the interior of the body, paint it, weather it and only then fit the upper parts and the external accessories, because once it is closed you will reach inside neither with a brush nor with an airbrush. Glue the small photo-etched parts, such as the brackets, the clasps, the covers and the bulkheads, only after the base coat on the interior, so that the paint does not flood the fine edges. Set aside a light-colored surface and tweezers with smooth jaws for working with the small parts. Leave the inside lighter than would seem right: in 1:48 scale the shaded surfaces of a closed body darken optically by themselves, and an excessively dark interior then merges into a shapeless blot. The parts are shaped for the Tamiya kit.
This is a set of accessories, not a model in its own right. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
