An accessory for a diorama and for vehicle models in 1:48 scale: the British two-gallon fuel can.
Responsibility details are not available.
British units carried fuel in sheet metal cans holding two gallons, which is about nine liters. It was a container one man could lift and that could be stacked in heaps on beds, fenders and beside field depots. It is exactly such small things that make a scene believable: a vehicle on its own is just a machine, and only the load and the equipment around it tell what was going on in the place.
The can suits the bed of a truck, the side of an armored vehicle, the corner of a workshop or a figure who is carrying it. It also works as a small contrast in color: a battered metal container next to an evenly sprayed vehicle lifts the impression of the whole at once. The number of pieces and the exact version are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder off carefully so that the mating face stays flat. Choose the glue according to the material of the part; the manufacturer gives the recommendation. Wash and degrease the part before painting. When painting it pays not to stop at one shade: a base color, a darker wash into the pressings and fine chipping on the edges turn a small part into an object somebody used every day. A few stains and a trace of rust at the neck complete the rest.
The vehicle model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
