A buffer stop at the end of a track in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Hauler is a diorama accessory, not a kit of a vehicle. It closes off a dead-end track in a station, siding or depot scene.
Responsibility details are not available.
A diorama element that ends a dead-end track. It is not a model of a locomotive or a wagon but a separate accessory for building the scene the track runs into. Hauler is a Czech maker of aftermarket accessories and diorama elements.
A buffer stop is a fixed barrier at the end of a track, meant to catch a vehicle that runs past the end. It occurs in many forms - from a simple metal structure bolted to the rails through brick or concrete blocks to a heaped earth bank. On a diorama it fills an important role: it ends naturally and logically a track that would otherwise seem to stop at the edge of the base for no reason. That is exactly why it is often used in scenes with a ramp, with equipment being loaded or with the siding of an industrial compound.
The key is the setting into the base. A buffer stop must not merely be laid down, it has to look sunk in - add ties under the rails, heap gravel around it and fill the gaps with fine sand and thinned white glue. Go over the metal parts with a primer, then with a dark steel color, and rust them with shades of brown and orange applied in layers over one another, not with a single color. Concrete surfaces, by contrast, call for a light base, a dark wash and dry traces of greenery at the foot. The end of the rails tends to be battered, so light rubbing with a metallic pigment suits well.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The track, glue, paints and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
