DARK GREEN – FIGURES

Dark Green — Figures, an AK interactive acrylic paint

This is an acrylic modeling paint, that is a water-based paint. It is thinned with water or with an acrylic thinner from the same maker and once dried it forms a durable film. The qualifier for figures in the name means that the shade belongs to the part of the 3rd Generation Acrylic line which the maker put together for painting figures, their uniforms and their equipment. In modeling practice the dark green tone suits parts of uniforms, canvas and textile fittings, haversacks, shelter halves and small equipment. It is not a lacquer or a synthetic enamel, so it does not mix or thin with paints of different chemistry.

Use

• Shake the bottle thoroughly before the work; the pigment settles at the bottom.
• Apply it onto a degreased and primed surface, rather in two or three thin coats than in one thick one.
• For a brush the paint is prepared as it is. Into an airbrush, thin it with water or an acrylic thinner.
• On a figure the dark green shades well with a dark wash and brightens with a dry brush or by mixing a lighter tone in.
• Wash the brushes out with water immediately after the work; dried acrylic is removed from the bristles with difficulty.
• Finally even the surface out with a matte or satin acrylic clear coat according to the look you want.

Who the paint is for

For modelers who paint figures with a brush and want to work with acrylic without the smell of solvents. It also suits anyone who builds equipment and needs to add a dark green tone to small textile and equipment details. Beginners are suited by the easy cleaning with water, and the advanced will appreciate that the shade can be mixed without trouble with other paints of the same line into transitions of their own.

Store the paint in a well closed bottle out of the reach of children and work in a reasonably ventilated room. The rendering of the shade on a monitor may differ from reality.
