A comprehensive detailing set in 1:48 scale for plastic models of the twin-engine Beechcraft C-45 Expeditor. The designation Big edition suggests a broader scope than an ordinary set: it contains resin parts (two Pratt and Whitney R-985 Wasp Junior engines), photo-etched metal parts and a film with the instrument panel for refining both the interior and the exterior. It is made by the Ukrainian brand Metallic Details. In its dimensions it is based on the ICM kit.
The Beechcraft C-45 (the Model 18 family, the Expeditor in military service) was a twin-engine multipurpose aircraft from the 1930s and 1940s, used for communications, training and light transport. It is recognizable by its low-set wings, tailwheel landing gear and twin tail.
The resin engines and the photo-etched parts replace simpler plastic parts and markedly raise the level of the finished model. Wash the release agent off the resin, cut the casting blocks away and glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); bend the photo-etched parts over a ruler. Before clear coating, degrease the parts and apply a base; protect the color panel from the film with gloss varnish.
This is an aftermarket accessory. The base ICM kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
