1:48 Camouflage Paint Masks For F-16C BDU Green Splinter Aggressor is a masking set thanks to which an angular green aggressor scheme arises on a 1:48 airframe.
Responsibility details are not available.
Broken fields with sharp breaks practically cannot be drawn with a brush, and an airbrush used freehand makes a soft transition that kills the scheme. The pre-cut parts from DN Models solve both: the edge stays knife-sharp and the shape of the fields matches the real machine. The artwork follows photographs of an aircraft of the 18th Aggressor Squadron from Eielson base in Alaska.
American aggressor units have long worn colorings imitating the likely opponent. The green broken variant is among the most striking, because it takes its inspiration from the contemporary schemes of Russian Flankers and differs at first glance from the established blue and black aggressors. On the small silhouette of the F-16 the fields stand out more than on a heavy twin-engine fighter.
Let the lower tone cure for at least a day. Seat the short wedge-shaped parts one at a time and press the edges down with a soft tool, because it is precisely at the points of the triangles that the paint most likes to run under. Remove them slowly and at an angle, so that the base coat is not lifted at the sharp corners of the fields.
It is not a kit; the contents are masking sheets and nothing more.
