Within the range of the brand the Chaser was the more aggressive of the related sedans. It shared its engineering and the basis of its body with two other types, but commercially it aimed at younger customers and had a more pronounced front grille. The GX71 code in the name refers to the version with the turbocharged six-cylinder unit, which made it a feared rival in the 1980s.
The trio of related cars was sold in parallel and the differences between them were above all visual: different lights, a different tail, a different front end. Of the whole group the Chaser tends to be the most sought after, precisely because of its sportier looks and because of the later fame this model line won among the enthusiasts of drift. Rear-wheel drive was a matter of course.
Before you start work, decide whether you want the factory look or a modified form: the choice of wheels, the ride height and the color scheme all follow from that. The body has long flat surfaces, so it is worth not rushing the sanding of the primer. The headlights benefit from having the clear part glued on only once the paint is finished, using a glue that does not fog transparent parts.
The parts are supplied raw, without paint and without assembly.
