Masks for the cockpit glazing and for the wheels of the two-seat training Harrier in 1:48 scale, cut for the Kinetic kit. Stencils for the national insignia are included.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Harrier is a V/STOL combat aircraft that does not need a long runway and can settle onto a small area. The two-seat training version has a lengthened nose and a cockpit with two seats in tandem, so it is strikingly longer than the single-seat machine. The British machines flew with the Royal Air Force and with the Royal Navy, and that is why you meet two sets of national insignia on them.
In the package are die-cut masks for the cockpit glazing and for the wheels in 1:48 scale and with them stencils for the national insignia of both services. The shapes follow the kit from the Kinetic firm, so the frames fit its clear parts. Besides the main wheels the landing gear of the Harrier has outrigger wheels under the wing, so masking the wheels takes more work than on an ordinary aircraft.
Wash the clear parts and let them dry. Lay the mask on, line it up by the frame and go over the edge with a toothpick. Spray the frames first with the interior shade and after drying with the exterior finish, then take the mask off. On the wheels, spray the shade of the tire and remove the mask as soon as the layer is dry to the touch. Try the insignia stencils dry before applying them and measure them from the same place on both sides, so that they sit symmetrically.
The set is for builders of British equipment who want clean frames and sprayed insignia. The contents are masks only; the model, paints and glue are not part of them, unless stated otherwise.
