This is a resin detail set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard from the Brassin line. It is not a model of an airplane but an accessory with ordnance for finishing a larger kit off: a set of faithfully cast CBU-87 cluster bombs (Combined Effects Munition) in 1:48 scale. The package holds resin parts of the bombs and a sheet of decals with technical stencils. Always compare the real subject with your base model.
The CBU-87 is an American cluster bomb dropped by modern tactical aircraft. The resin castings replace the coarser plastic stores from the box with crisp details of the surface, the suspension lugs and the stabilizers, so the stores under the wing come across realistically. The set is intended for models of American attack and combat aircraft that carry these munitions.
First wash the resin parts clean of the remains of the mold release agent (warm water and detergent). Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutter, not by breaking them off, and clean the edges up. They are glued with super glue (cyanoacrylate); glue for plastic models does not hold on resin. Use protection of the airways while sanding. Before the decals we recommend a gloss varnish.
This is a detail accessory, not a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
