Die-cut masks for the glazed areas of a model of the Consolidated B-24J Liberator in 1:48 scale. They are stuck on before spraying and save an evening spent taping up frames.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Consolidated B-24J Liberator was an American four-engine heavy bomber of the Second World War. It was powered by four Pratt and Whitney R-1830 Twin Wasp radial engines, carried a high-mounted slender wing and twin vertical tails. The J version was among the most numerous and was defensively armed along the whole length of the fuselage: a turret at the front, on top, below and in the tail, plus the glazing of the navigator's station and side gun windows. For a modeler that means a lot of glass and even more frames.
Precisely die-cut masking pieces for the glazed areas of a B-24J model in 1:48 scale. The pieces are shaped to the parts of a particular kit, so there is no need to test them or trim them to fit; their list and placement are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The masks are stuck onto clean, degreased glass before spraying. Lift a piece off the sheet with the tip of a scalpel or with tweezers, lay it in place and press the edges down with a wooden stick so that paint does not seep under them. Fill the large areas between frames with masking fluid or tape. Spray several thin coats; one heavy coat will leave a ridge at the edge of the mask. Take the masks off only once the paint has dried, and pull them with tweezers at an angle to the side, not straight up.
For modelers who build the B-24J in 1:48 scale and do not want to spend an evening taping up dozens of frames with narrow strips. The kit, paints and glue are not the subject of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
