Set of photo-etched metal parts in 1:48 scale for the model of the de Havilland Chipmunk T.20 trainer.
Responsibility details are not available.
The de Havilland Chipmunk is a training low-wing monoplane with two cockpits in tandem, which came about in Canada shortly after the Second World War and replaced the older biplanes used for basic training. It is powered by an air-cooled inverted inline Gipsy Major engine and on the ground it stands on a tailwheel landing gear. The T.20 designation belongs to the military training version.
In the package are photo-etched parts made of thin metal sheet, intended for finishing the model of the Chipmunk in 1:48 scale. Photo-etch is used precisely where a plastic part is inevitably thicker than reality would call for. The list of elements and their placement on the model is given in the manufacturer's instructions for the set, as is the designation of the kit the set is prepared for.
Work over a light-colored surface or a tray; a small part is otherwise very hard to find. Cut the elements off with a sharp blade, sand the remainder of the tab back with a fine file and make the bends in a bender. Offer the part up dry and only then apply a tiny amount of super glue; excess is hard to remove and dulls the surrounding area. Degrease the metal before painting and spray a primer. It is better to leave the finished small elements until the end of the build, so that you do not tear them off during further handling.
For modelers who build smaller training aircraft and want to take a model further than the box contents reach.
The kit, the paints and the glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
