A detail accessory set from MASTER in 1:48 scale for plastic models of the British De Havilland Mosquito in the NF Mk.II and FB Mk.VI versions. It is not an airplane model but precise turned metal replacements for exposed parts. The set contains turned metal barrels for the Browning .303 machine guns, the barrel tips of the Hispano 20 mm cannon and a pitot tube.
Turned metal faithfully captures the thin muzzles of the barrels and the small details that injection-molded plastic cannot manage, and it offers greater resistance to damage during handling. The Browning barrels and the tips of the Hispano cannon refine the forward armament in the nose and the lower fuselage, while the pitot tube completes the sensor on the wing or the fuselage.
The Mosquito was a British multirole twin-engine aircraft with a largely wooden structure. The NF Mk.II night fighter version and the FB Mk.VI fighter bomber both carried the combined armament of four Browning .303 machine guns in the nose and four Hispano 20 mm cannon in the lower fuselage. During the Second World War the type was among the most versatile machines of the RAF.
Cut the original plastic barrels off and drill a hole in the remaining plastic for the pin of the metal part. Glue the turned metal parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), which holds better on metal than cement for plastic. Degrease the parts before gluing; they can be painted once primed.
