A figure of an American mechanic resting, leaning on a support, in 1:48 scale from the DEF Model brand. Made for dioramas and vignettes with aircraft and vehicles.
Responsibility details are not available.
The figure represents an American mechanic leaning and resting. Figures of ground personnel give a diorama scale and action even where nothing else is going on: a mechanic who has stopped for a moment by an aircraft or by a vehicle brings a scene to life without drawing attention to himself.
A figure of an American mechanic in 1:48 scale from the DEF Model brand. An adult figure in this scale stands around 36 millimeters tall, so it is a small part where careful cleaning and a steady hand when painting the face and hands pay off.
Cut surplus material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest carefully, so as not to touch the folds of the clothing. Before painting, wash and degrease the figure, or the paint will not hold on the surface. Match the choice of glue and paints to the material of the part; the particular procedure is given in the manufacturer's instructions. The pose of a leaning figure reckons on a support, so try the figure dry before gluing and adjust the surface so that the shoulder or the hand really touches it and the figure is not left hanging in the air.
For a modeler who builds a diorama or a vignette in 1:48 scale and is looking for a calm figure beside a machine, not a dramatic action pose. The package contains the figure; the model, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
