Defiant NF. I 1:48 is a die-cut mask set from Eduard for models of the British Boulton Paul Defiant NF. I night fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a set of self-adhesive painting masks intended for a model of the Boulton Paul Defiant NF. I night fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not a model or a kit but an accessory that makes it easy to spray the canopy frames and other glazed panels cleanly. The masks are machine cut (die-cut) from Japanese kabuki masking tape, so they follow the shape of the parts exactly and leave no sticky residue when peeled off.
The Boulton Paul Defiant was a British two-seat fighter whose main armament was a powered dorsal turret with four machine guns. The NF. I version was adapted for night combat and used against German bombers during the raids on Britain. The heavily divided glazing of the cockpit and the turret makes masking by hand difficult, and this set simplifies it considerably.
Peel the individual masks off with tweezers, place them exactly on the glazing and press them down. Degrease the transparent parts first. Apply the paint with an airbrush in thin coats so that it does not creep under the edge of the mask. Remove the masks while the paint is still fresh or shortly after it has dried. The set will usually serve for masking the wheels as well.
The accessory does not contain the model or paints. It serves only for masking while spraying.
