The hinged doors 1:48 DH-82 Tiger Moth cockpit doors from the Quickboost brand will replace the thick plastic parts on the cockpits of the British training biplane.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin replacement for the hinged doors on both open cockpits of the de Havilland DH.82 Tiger Moth biplane. The casting has a thin wall compared with plastic, so the doors can be shown dropped down, as used to be the case when boarding and during ordinary standing at an airfield. The manufacturer is Quickboost, the accessory brand of the Aires firm.
The Tiger Moth took off in 1931 and became the basic training machine of the Royal Air Force. The wings were given sweep so that the crew could get out of the front cockpit in an emergency even with a parachute, and the Gipsy Major engine hung inverted in the nose, which made the view easier. Tens of thousands of pilots went through elementary schools on this type and a number of machines fly to this day in private hands. It was built overseas as well, so the same biplane was met in training in Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
First clean up the opening in the side of the fuselage and try fitting the doors dry. In the dropped position it is advisable to support them with a wire until the super glue sets. Paint the inner side before you lay the part against the fuselage, as otherwise the lower edge is hard to reach.
The doors are sold without the aircraft; count on your own paints and super glue.
