A detail set from the Czech maker Aires in 1:48 scale. It is not a standalone airplane model but a set of add-ons in cast resin together with photo-etched parts. The set replaces selected plastic parts with more faithful castings carrying fine detail, and it is intended for the Do 335 plastic kit from Tamiya.
The set refines the exposed areas of the aircraft, typically the cockpit area and other places where detail shows. The Dornier Do 335 Pfeil was a German heavy fighter of the end of the Second World War with an unusual arrangement of two engines in tandem (a tractor at the front, a pusher at the rear), thanks to which it was among the fastest piston aircraft of its day. Check the exact contents of the package and the number of parts on the box of the set.
Separate the parts from the casting blocks, wash the mold release agent off them and degrease them. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate); reckon with fine-tuning the fit by sanding and with cleaning up the seams. Wear a respirator when sanding resin.
An accessory for a kit, it is not a standalone model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
