About product

Side air brakes for the Douglas A-1 Skyraider (1:48, RESArm)

This is a resin (3D-printed) detail accessory, not a standalone kit. The set contains the side air brakes for a model of the Douglas A-1 Skyraider attack aircraft. It makes it possible to show the brakes in the extended position together with the faithful internal structure that plastic kits usually simplify.

The real subject

The Douglas A-1 Skyraider is an American single-engine piston attack aircraft of the Korea and Vietnam period. Besides the under-fuselage brake it also had side air brakes, whose open position is a popular detail on static models.

Use

Clean the uncured print resin residue off the parts, separate them from the print supports and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). For a striking result, show the brakes extended and pick the internal detail out. Wear respiratory protection while sanding.

Who it is for

  • Builders of the Douglas A-1 Skyraider in 1:48 scale
  • Anyone interested in showing extended air brakes
  • Modelers who work with resin

The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted; paints, glue and the base model are not included in the package.
