This set from Metallic Details holds finely worked underwing pylons for a model of the American Douglas A-1J Skyraider piston attack aircraft in 1:48 scale. The parts are made as fine resin, or rather 3D-printed elements with a faithful shape and detail, onto which armament and drop tanks can be hung. It is not a kit but an accessory.
The Douglas A-1 Skyraider was a single-seat piston attack aircraft that, despite the arrival of jets, stood out for a heavy load of stores and long endurance; it became famous above all in the Vietnam War. The A-1J version was one of the later variants. A full load of stores is typical of the Skyraider, so faithful pylons markedly improve the look of a model.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts and cut off the casting blocks or print supports. Glue with cyanoacrylate. Protect your airways when sanding and degrease the surfaces before gluing.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without a model. Paints, glue and a kit are not included in the package.
