1:48 ESK 2000 B German WWII Gun Camera is a CMK resin detailing accessory in 1:48 scale. It is not a model of an aircraft but a gun camera for finishing one.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is not a kit of an aircraft. It is a resin detailing set in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker CMK, which adds to a finished model a small but conspicuous component: the German ESK 2000 B gun camera of the Second World War period. The number of parts and the contents of the package are stated on the box.
A gun camera was a small recording device linked to the trigger of the onboard armament. It wrote a short strip of film at the moment of firing and served to assess training and to verify reports. On German aircraft it was installed in the wing or in the forward part of the fuselage, so on a model it is a detail visible in the leading edge or in an opening in a cover.
Wash the resin parts first in lukewarm water with dish soap so that any residue of the mold release agent is removed — without that the paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a cutting disc, never break them off. Do not breathe in sanded resin dust; sanding wet and wearing a mask is ideal. It is glued with superglue, as ordinary cement for plastic does not work on resin. Seat the part dry before gluing and enlarge any opening in the plastic part gradually. A primer, paint and a light accent on the edges with a dry brush follow.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, and it is not a model of an aircraft. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. Before buying, please check that the set fits your own particular kit.
