A precisely cast resin probe for in-flight refueling for the American North American F-100 Super Sabre fighter in 1:48 scale. It is an aftermarket detail part that replaces the coarser or fragile plastic part from the base kit, not a stand-alone airplane model.
The North American F-100 Super Sabre was an American supersonic fighter, the first of the so-called Century series. It served with the US Air Force and with allies and was deployed, among other places, in Vietnam. Its capabilities included in-flight refueling through a probe extended from the fuselage, which extended its range and the length of its missions.
Resin parts call for more careful work than plastic: first wash them free of mold release residue, separate them carefully from the casting block and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Protect your airways when sanding and cutting small parts. Apply a primer before painting. The slender probe is fragile, so glue it on at the end of the build, when handling no longer risks breaking it off.
The part is supplied as a resin accessory, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
