Reskit 1:48 F-100D Super Sabre 200 gallon fuel tanks is a resin set of external drop tanks for a model of the F-100D fighter-bomber in 1:48 scale. It is not a model of the aircraft but an accessory for a kit already under way.

This is a resin add-on set, not a model of the aircraft. It holds external drop tanks with a capacity of 200 gallons (roughly 760 liters) in 1:48 scale, intended for the wing pylons of a model of the North American F-100D Super Sabre fighter-bomber. With resin tanks there is usually no filling and sanding of the lengthwise seam, which is the most laborious part of the job on the two-piece plastic tanks from the box.
The F-100D was the most numerous version of the F-100 series, the first production American fighter able to exceed the speed of sound in level flight. Compared with the earlier C version the aircraft got a taller vertical tail, an autopilot and a wider choice of external stores: a pure fighter turned into a fighter-bomber. Drop tanks on the wing pylons were standard equipment on strike missions, as they extended the range and could be jettisoned once empty. Besides the US Air Force the type served with a number of other users in Europe and Asia.
Wash the parts first in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent: there is usually mold release residue on the surface, and without washing neither primer nor paint will hold. Do not snap the casting blocks off; cut them with a fine saw or a thin knife and polish the area with a sanding sponge. Always sand resin wet and with respiratory protection, as the dust must not be inhaled. Bonding is done with super glue (cyanoacrylate), as ordinary polystyrene cement has no effect on resin. Apply a thin coat of primer before painting; only on it can you see whether the surface is really smooth. The shade of the tanks varied from one aircraft to another, so follow the subject you are building.
This is an accessory for a model, not a standalone kit. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
