A turned metal pitot boom for a model of the American Convair F-102 Delta Dagger interceptor in 1:48 scale. It replaces the plastic tube from the kit with a stronger and more accurate metal part.
A pitot on the nose is prone to bending and to losing its detail in plastic. The metal version machined on a lathe keeps its straight shape and its fine profile. You cut off the original part and glue the metal replacement in its place, ideally with cyanoacrylate.
