This set from the aircraft aftermarket manufacturer Aires/Quickboost is a resin replacement for the control stick in the cockpit of a model of the F-105 Thunderchief fighter-bomber in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane kit but a small detail accessory that replaces the plastic stick from the base kit with a more finely cast part including the controls on the grip.
The Republic F-105 Thunderchief was an American single-seat supersonic fighter-bomber, deployed above all during the Vietnam War on strike duties. With the canopy open, the cockpit with its clearly visible control stick is one of the details on view.
First wash the mold release residue off the resin part, carefully cut off the casting block and sand the surface with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). We recommend painting the stick before it goes into the cockpit; the controls on the grip come alive once the edges are picked out.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
