About product

Quickboost F-14 Tomcat airbrake (1:48)

A resin detail set from Quickboost with the airbrake for a model of the American Grumman F-14 Tomcat carrier fighter in 1:48 scale. The casting lets you show the airbrake with accurate detail and, if you wish, in the extended position. It is an accessory for a kit, not an airplane model.

The real subject

The Grumman F-14 Tomcat was an American two-seat carrier fighter with a variable-geometry wing. The airbrake on the upper side of the fuselage is used to shed speed quickly and is a prominent feature that is often extended on the ground.

Building tips

Wash the part to remove mold release, cut off the casting block and seat it in place of the original plastic part. Bond it with super glue and set the inner surfaces apart in color to bring out the detail.

Who the set is for

  • Modelers who want an accurate airbrake, extended as well.
  • Builders of the F-14 in 1:48 scale.
  • Anyone after greater accuracy on the upper fuselage.

The kit itself and glue are not included in the package.
