Replacement exhaust nozzles for an F-14A Tomcat model in 1:48 scale, in the open position according to the name.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Grumman F-14A Tomcat was an American two-seat carrier-based fighter with a variable-sweep wing. Its rear end is unusually rewarding for a modeler: the two nozzles sit far apart, between them is the flat rear fuselage and above it the tail surfaces, so you see the nozzles from almost every side and nothing can cover them.
The set replaces the exhaust nozzles of both engines with parts with thin edges and a well-worked interior. The nozzles from a kit tend to be thick-walled and shallow and to have a clear seam that is hard to sand down in the depth. The name gives the open position of the nozzles, so the shape of the set is fixed; choose the position according to the state you are showing on the model. The scope of the set and the kit it is intended for are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The parts are not polystyrene, so ordinary plastic cement has no effect on them; make the joints with super glue. Cut the excess material off a little way from the part with a sharp blade and sand the remainder down so that the shape is not damaged. Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap and degrease them, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface. The particular procedure for preparing them is given in the manufacturer's instructions. Paint the inside of the nozzle before you seat it on the model. Apply the metal shades in fine coats and keep the transitions into warm tones at the edge restrained, so that the rear end does not look gaudy.
The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
