This is a resin accessory in 1:48 scale from the Czech brand Quickboost, part of the Aires family, not a model on its own. The set represents the reinforcement plates on the tail surfaces of the F-14A Tomcat carrier fighter, the characteristic strengthening features that appeared on the real aircraft during its service.
The reinforcement plates are a small detail in the silhouette of the Tomcat, but one that the knowledgeable eye does not miss. The set sharpens the look of the tail surfaces of a model with fine castings, which read more crisply and convincingly than relief molded into plastic. Photo-etched parts for the finest details are usually included as well.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and dry-fit them; bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate), and attach the photo-etched parts with super glue as well. Wear respiratory protection while sanding. Prime before painting and match the shade to the surroundings.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as resin castings. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
