A resin set of the undernose pod, the so-called chin pod, with an electronic warfare (ECM) antenna for the carrier-based fighter F-14A/B Tomcat in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane model but a detail set that replaces the simplified plastic part with an accurate casting matching the configuration with the ECM antenna under the nose. The manufacturer is the Quickboost range of the Czech studio Aires.
The Grumman F-14 Tomcat is an American two-seat carrier-based fighter aircraft with a variable-geometry wing, for many years the main defensive fighter of the US Navy. The pod under the nose carried different sensors and antennas in different periods, so its fit differed from machine to machine. This version corresponds to the configuration with an electronic warfare antenna.
Wash the parts free of the release agent, separate them from the casting block and clean up the mating face. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate); protect your airways when sanding resin. Before gluing, try the pod dry on the underside of the nose and adjust the seating if needed.
The set does not contain the aircraft model itself; it serves as an accessory to a matching kit. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
