This set is NOT an aircraft model but a detail accessory for the plastic kit of the Grumman F-14B/D Tomcat fighter in 1:48 scale. It replaces the original landing gear with an accurate resin and 3D-printed version, including weighted wheels with a flat spot that imitates the tires settling under the weight of the aircraft. The set is intended for experienced modelers.
On a displayed model the landing gear and wheels are very much on view, and the plastic parts tend to be simplified. Precisely shaped gear legs, the breakdown of the struts and weighted wheels with a realistic tread noticeably raise the impression of mass and accuracy, especially on the massive Tomcat.
Wash the parts free of mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Sand the resin with your airways protected. On the load-bearing parts of the landing gear make sure the joints are firm and straight.
This is an accessory for a kit, not a model. The basic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
