Colored three-dimensional interior elements from Quinta for the F-14D in 1:48 scale, prepared for the Hobby Boss kit. They are applied by the wet method.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-14D is the last configuration of the carrier-based Tomcat fighter, a machine with a variable-sweep wing and a crew of two. The pilot sits in front and the weapon systems officer behind him, and the two stations differ from each other: the rear cockpit has no flight controls but is full of displays and switches. Under the long one-piece canopy both are visible, so in 1:48 scale it does not pay to economize on the interior.
Colored three-dimensional interior elements, according to the name produced by 3D printing. The panels, the switches, the displays and the labels all have relief and arrive finished in color. The elements are printed on decal backing paper and are applied by the wet method: the part is cut out, soaked in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slid off the paper into place. It has no adhesive layer of its own and holds on a gloss clear coat of the Future, Klear or Tamiya X-22 type. Do not use decal softener or setting solution, as the chemicals would damage the printed resin. The set is prepared for the kit from Hobby Boss in 1:48 scale.
For builders of carrier-based aircraft who want both stations finished in color without having to paint the individual displays with a brush. The work is painstaking, but anyone with tweezers, a sharp blade and some patience can manage it. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
