A BASIC masking set for the F-14D Super Tomcat in 1:48 scale from the Czech brand New Ware — precisely cut masks of Japanese kabuki paper tape for clean spraying of the cockpit and other basic areas.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of precisely cut self-adhesive masks of Japanese kabuki paper tape from the Czech brand New Ware. It is not an aircraft model: it is an accessory that, during the build of a Super Tomcat in 1:48 scale, saves you the most tiresome part of the job, outlining and cutting masks for the canopy by hand.
The frames of the cockpit canopy are among the places where the cleanness of the work shows at first glance. Cut masks follow the individual panes of the glazing exactly; all you do is lift them off the backing sheet, lay them on and spray over them. The set in the BASIC range concentrates on the basic masking, above all the canopy and the landing gear wheels, so it covers the most important parts with nothing unnecessary added.
Degrease the surface before sticking them on, press the edges of the masks down with a toothpick or a soft squeegee and lay the paint on in thin coats square to the edge so that it does not bleed. Lift the masks off with tweezers at a sharp angle, ideally shortly after the paint has dried. Leave the masks you do not use on the backing sheet and store it flat, and they will last for the next build too.
This is a masking accessory for painting; the aircraft kit itself is not included in the package.
