The cockpit is the first place anyone looks on an aircraft model, and the seat from an ordinary kit is usually not enough for it. According to the name this replacement comes with fabric padding, which is a variant different from the wool form offered alongside it. The difference is visible in the artwork of the cushion and the backrest.
This is a type of ejection seat used in a range of American combat aircraft. It allows the machine to be left even at low altitude and its shape is well known among modelers thanks to the characteristic back frame and headrest. The details of the straps, handles and firing elements are what decide whether a cockpit reads convincingly.
Take the original part out of the kit and level the seating face of the tub carefully, so that the new part does not sit crooked. Finish and paint the seat itself away from the model, and only then glue it in. A dark wash into the recesses and a dry brush on the edges prove themselves, because it is the edges that carry the most shadow. Pick the belts out in a different shade, otherwise they will merge with the whole.
The package contains only the replacement for the cockpit; the whole aircraft is bought separately.
