Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory that replaces the plastic engine tailpipe on an F-16 model in 1:48 scale with a separate part with the nozzle in the closed position. The set by Rise144models is cut for the newer F-16 models by Kinetic and matches the General Electric engine fit. The manufacturer also offers the same form with the nozzle open, so you choose the position by how you want to display the aircraft.
The F-16 Fighting Falcon was delivered with two powerplants: the Pratt and Whitney of the F100 series and the General Electric of the F110 series. The nozzles of the two engines differ in build and in the number of outer petals and are among the most striking distinguishing features by which the engine fit of a particular aircraft can be determined even from the outside. The petals of a nozzle change position according to the engine setting, so on photographs of the same aircraft you can see both a narrowed and an opened nozzle. That is precisely why the manufacturer offers both versions separately.
Before gluing, wash the part in lukewarm water with detergent and get the remains of the mold release agent off it. Cut the casting block away with a saw, level the surface with sandpaper and use airway protection when sanding. Reach for cyanoacrylate glue for gluing. In 1:48 scale it pays to give the painting time: spray the duct of the nozzle with a metallic shade, add dark toning at the root and create fine bands of heat discoloration in blue-brown tones on the outer petals. Dry pigments help to suggest settled soot. Paint the part separately and fit it to the fuselage only at the end.
