A photo-etched metal set for a model of the F-16A MLU in 1:48 scale. It replaces the small elements that injection-molded plastic cannot make thin enough.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched metal set for a model of the F-16A in the MLU version, 1:48 scale. Etched sheet makes it possible to produce elements a fraction of a millimeter thick, that is exactly as injection-molded plastic never could. On the model this shows above all on the parts that need a sharp edge or need to be seen through: grilles, tie-down loops, levers, safety wires and panels with controls.
The abbreviation MLU refers to the upgrade program that the single-seat F-16A and the two-seat F-16B operated in Europe went through in the 1990s. The aircraft received new avionics and a reworked cockpit interior, so that they kept pace with the later production blocks. For modelers it is the cockpit that shows the difference between an early and an upgraded machine best, and where small metal detail pays off.
For the modeler who wants detail on the model to match the scale and is not put off by fine work. The set is cut for a particular kit, so dry-fit the parts against your own model before building and follow the manufacturer's instructions. You do not have to use every part; a good result often comes from the ones that are visible on the finished model.
A set of photo-etched parts is supplied. The model, the paints and the glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
