The 1:48 F-16A/B Fighting Falcon exhaust nozzle is a resin replacement for the exhaust nozzle of F-16A/B models in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Aires. It is not an aircraft model but a detail accessory for a kit.

This item is not an aircraft kit but a detail resin set that replaces the exhaust nozzle of the engine in an F-16A/B kit in 1:48 scale. A resin casting allows thinner walls and a crisper surface structure than injection-molded plastic can manage, so once finished the nozzle comes across as a real sheet-metal structure rather than a thick plastic cone. The manufacturer is Aires, a Czech specialist in resin accessories for aircraft models.
The General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon is a single-engine multirole combat aircraft. The A version is single-seat, the B version a two-seat trainer and combat machine. On a model the exhaust end of the engine on the Fighting Falcon is well visible and it is one of the places where the difference between a plastic part and a precise resin replacement shows at first glance.
Wash the parts first in lukewarm soapy water, so that the remains of the mold release agent from the mold come off. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc, not with side cutters. Sand the resin wet and with protection for your airways. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue, because cement for plastic has no effect on resin. Apply a primer before painting. Metal shades on the nozzle layer up better over a smooth gloss undercoat and mask worse, so lay them on at the very end.
The set is an accessory, not a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. The same manufacturer makes more than one resin nozzle for the Fighting Falcon and they are told apart by the exact designation of the line, so compare the set designation against the model you are building when you order.
