Quinta Studio 1:48 F-16B, a 3D printed color interior on decal paper (Hasegawa), is a set for the two-seat cockpit of the Viper. Under the one-piece bubble canopy the whole interior is in view, so the detail pays off.

The set replaces the flat plastic detail of the cockpit with color 3D printing on decal paper. On the F-16 that makes practical sense on top of everything else: the canopy is one piece, clear and without framing, so anyone who looks at the model from the side looks straight into the cockpit. On other types a good deal hides behind a frame or behind glazing made of several parts, but not here. The set is cut for the Hasegawa kit in 1:48 scale and concerns the two-seat B version, not the single-seat A.
The F-16B is the two-seat variant of the first production Vipers. The second station was created at the expense of part of the internal volume of the fuselage, and both cockpits sit in tandem under a common canopy. A characteristic feature is the side stick instead of the classic one between the knees, and a markedly reclined seat. The instrumentation matches the early generation: analog dials predominate, supplemented by a few electronic displays. The layout of the cockpit therefore differs from the later versions, and interior sets are not interchangeable between them.
The order of work is the key thing. The complete cockpit is finished before the fuselage halves go together, decals and final varnish included, because after that you cannot get inside. Before you glue the fuselage, dry-fit the parts and check that the printed layer is not in the way anywhere. Do not use a decal softener, as it would damage this printed resin. A 3D decal has a noticeable thickness and in tight places it can open up a gap that you then see on the fuselage joint. Glue the clear canopy on at the very end, with a glue that does not fog transparent parts.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The base model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
