The F-16 is a single-seat multi-role combat aircraft with a bubble canopy free of a windscreen frame, which gives the pilot an exceptional view, and with the control stick set beside the right-hand side of the seat instead of the usual stick between the knees. The seat is noticeably reclined compared with other types, which helps the pilot withstand g-loads. The CJ designation came into use for Block 50 machines adapted to suppress enemy ground air defenses; the aircraft carries the matching equipment and external stores for the task. On this type the cockpit and the landing gear bays are among the places that are clearly visible on a finished model.

Metal makes it possible to produce elements with a real thickness close to the subject: belt buckles and hardware, placards, grilles, thin edges and panels with fine relief. The parts are held on the carrier sheet by small tabs. The scope of the set, the placement of the parts and the kit it is cut for are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not with cutters. Sand the remains of the tab down with a fine file. A photo-etch bending tool is best for the bends, though the edge of a steel ruler will also do. They are bonded with super glue or a two-part epoxy, always in the smallest amount, so that the adhesive does not flood the relief. Before painting, wash the metal, degrease it and cover it with a primer.
