Colored three-dimensional cockpit interior elements for a model of the F-16CJ fighter in 1:48 scale, shaped for the Hasegawa kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-16CJ is the single-seat version of the American F-16 fighter adapted for suppressing air defenses, that is for the task in which the machine seeks out and attacks the radars of air defense systems. The cockpit of the F-16 is among the most rewarding on models at all: the pilot sits under a one-piece bubble canopy from which practically the whole seat is visible, the side-stick controller is on the right and the instrument panel stays open to view even with the cockpit closed.
The elements replace the flat parts and decals from the kit with a colored rendition in relief. The instrument panel, the side panels, the seat and its belts thus gain depth and legible detail which is only achieved with difficulty by hand painting at 1:48 scale. The set is shaped for the Hasegawa kit given in the name; with another kit, count on having to adjust the shape.
First level and degrease the surfaces the elements are to seat on, and remove any raised detail from them that would lift them. Separate the elements one at a time and seat them dry first. Before applying them, check in the instructions whether the elements are self-adhesive; the way they are applied differs between lines and the set does not state it in its designation. Press them down with a soft stick from the center toward the edges, so they seat even in the recesses.
For builders of modern fighters in 1:48 scale who want a cockpit finished quickly and detailed all the same, and especially for those building a model with the canopy uncovered. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
