An Eduard photo-etched metal set for a model of the two-seat F-16D Block 40 aircraft in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-16D is the two-seat version of the American F-16 Fighting Falcon lightweight combat aircraft. The seats are arranged in tandem under a common bubble canopy, which on this version continues further back. The second seat called for part of the internal fuel load to be given up; otherwise the machine kept the qualities of the single-seat version, so it serves not only for training but for combat tasks as well. The Block 40 designation refers to a production block, that is to a group of machines delivered to the same equipment standard.
A photo-etched fret is a thin metal sheet with the parts etched chemically. They are separated from the fret, bent and glued to the model. Their benefit shows most in the cockpit, which on the two-seat version is glazed along its whole length and is clearly visible: the seat belts, the side consoles and the fine faces come out of metal at a thickness plastic cannot offer. The scope of the set and the kit it is cut for are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
A photo-etched set is supplied. The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
