About product

Eduard 1:48 F-2A - photo-etched set

A photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for super-detailing a model of the Japanese Mitsubishi F-2A fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane kit but an accessory that replaces coarser plastic items with thin metal parts and raises the fidelity of the finished model.

What the set offers

  • Fine photo-etched parts for raising the detail of the model.
  • Sharpening of the cockpit, the instruments and small items of the airframe.
  • Features that an injection mold cannot capture.

Usage tips

The parts are cut from the fret, bent along the engraved lines and bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or spot-glued. Pre-colored items, where the set holds them, are applied as they are; the rest are painted once glued on.

Who the set is for

  • More advanced modelers who want to raise the detail of a model.
  • Collectors of modern Japanese aviation.
  • Builders for whom the purely plastic version out of the box is not enough.

The accessory is supplied unpainted, unless stated otherwise. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
