F-35A 1:48, a 3D-printed colored interior on decal paper (Quinta Studio)

This is not an aircraft kit but a cockpit accessory. Quinta Studio prints 3D, factory-colored interior details onto decal paper. The result has the three-dimensional structure of a resin part but is transferred onto the model like a wet decal, with no cutting, no sanding and no need to paint anything in.

How the set is applied

• The individual elements are cut out together with the paper and soaked in lukewarm water, just like an ordinary decal.
• Once released from the backing, the element is slid into place and its position is adjusted with a soft brush.
• A softener or a setting solution does not belong on the three-dimensional surface, as the chemistry would attack the printed resin.
• Once dry, the area is sealed with a matte or satin varnish that hides the edge of the paper.
• The surface underneath should be smooth, glossy and clean; a decal will not adhere to roughened or greasy plastic.

The set is cut for the F-35A kit from Kitty Hawk / Zimi Model in 1:48 scale. Quinta also produces versions for other kits of the same aircraft and they are not interchangeable: the shapes and spacing follow the particular plastic, so check which boxing you are building before you buy.
