This set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard replaces the cockpit of a plastic F-35A Lightning II model in 1:48 scale with more finely rendered 3D-printed resin parts. The designation PRINT in the name refers to exactly that technology: printing manages finer and sharper detail than a conventional injection mold can.
The F-35A is the single-seat version of the multirole combat aircraft with conventional takeoff and landing, that is, the land-based variant meant for air forces. Its cockpit differs markedly from older machines - instead of a row of analog instruments a large-area display dominates, and on a model with an open canopy that is very visible. That is exactly why a detailed cockpit set pays off on this type.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with a detergent, to remove the residues of the technological agents from printing. Cut the supports and the casting blocks off with a fine saw, level the cuts with a file and protect your airways while sanding resin. It is glued with super glue, not with cement for plastic. Try the assembly dry first - with cockpits the tub or the sides of the fuselage usually need slight adjustment so everything fits without stress. Painting: a primer, the base interior shade, a dark wash to bring out the recesses and gentle drybrushing of the edges. Leave the displays and the panels until the end; a semi-gloss or gloss coat over them gives the impression of glass.
The set is an accessory for a kit, not a model in its own right. The base kit, the paints and the glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
