The real subject

The F-4B Phantom II was the carrier-based version of the famous two-seat machine of the US Navy and the Marine Corps. Both crew members sat on Martin-Baker ejection seats, in the Mk.H5 version with this type. In an open cockpit the seat is the most conspicuous item of the interior and the belts on it are the first thing a viewer of a model notices.

The set brings full-color straps and restraints for Mk.H5 seats in 1:48 scale. It is a printed decal accessory for aircraft. The manufacturer cut it for the Academy kit numbered 12232, so the shape and the spacing match the seats from that box. How to work with the elements

• Before application, check in the instructions whether the items are self-adhesive or applied by the wet method; a self-adhesive film is damaged irreversibly by soaking.
• Finish and paint the seat first, because the belts come last of all.
• Degrease the surface and let it dry perfectly, so that the items do not stand off anywhere.
• Lay the straps in sections with tweezers and press them down with a cotton swab; make the bend over the edge of the cushion gradually, not in one pull.
• Let the loose ends drape naturally over the edge of the seat, so that the belts do not look like a glued-on stripe.
