This photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard serves to improve the ejection seats of F-4 Phantom II fighters in the grey finish. It is not a kit of an airplane but a detail accessory that replaces the simplified parts from the base kit with fine photo-etched elements. Among other things it tends to hold belts, handles and other small details that bring the seats closer to the real thing.
The seats from ordinary kits are simplified in shape and lack the fine detail of a real ejection seat. The photo-etched set fills those elements in and raises the level of the cockpit markedly, and on the Phantom the cockpit is clearly visible. The pattern matches the grey-finished seats used on F-4 machines, so it suits models of this type in 1:48 scale.
Separate the parts carefully from the fret and bend them exactly along the marked lines. The straps and colored elements tend to be pre-printed; the metal parts are tuned by repainting to match the real thing. They are glued with glue for photo-etch or with a small drop of super glue.
This is a photo-etched detail accessory, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
