A resin detail accessory of the Quickboost brand; this is not a stand-alone model. The set holds a finely cast arrestor hook in 1:48 scale for building the F-4 Phantom II. The casting refines the shape of the hook compared with the plastic part and makes it possible to show it lowered.
The F-4 Phantom II was a two-seat twin-engine supersonic combat aircraft of American manufacture. The arrestor hook serves on landing aboard an aircraft carrier to catch the arresting wire and is a typical feature of carrier machines. Showing the hook lowered brings a model on its stand to life.
Wash the mold release agent off the hook, cut off the casting block and line it up with the fuselage. It is bonded with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The hook is usually painted in contrasting stripes, which is a rewarding detail. Protect your airways while sanding.
