The set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard holds resin landing gear wheels in 1:48 scale for models of the F-4 Phantom II fighter in the F-4C version. It is not a kit of an airplane but an aftermarket detail accessory replacing the plastic wheels from the original kit. The package usually includes a pair of main wheels and the nose wheel, filled out with small elements for a more faithful hub.
The Phantom has a sturdy landing gear and its wheels are well visible. The resin casting captures the tread pattern, the hub and the stencils on the sidewall of the tire more crisply than plastic and allows a realistic flattening where it sits to be suggested. The parts are conceived as a direct replacement for the original wheel from the kit.
Wash the parts clean of the mold release agent, cut the casting blocks off and sand the surfaces with protection of the airways. Glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Paint the tire and the hub separately and use the enclosed templates for masking, if they are part of it.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin detail set. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
