Cockpit equipment for the late F-4D Phantom II, 1:48 scale. A decal sheet from Quinta Studio completed, according to the name, with resin components. Intended for the Academy kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
Decal paper printed in color carries the areas of the interior, which are stuck onto the plastic moldings of the cockpit. The resin components mentioned in the name accompany them. Choosing the late form makes sense with machines from the end of service over Vietnam and from later service. The target kit is Academy.
Machines of this version went through a number of modifications during their career, and their stations gradually changed. In 1972 F-4Ds took part in attacks on the bridges of North Vietnam, where laser-guided munitions came fully into their own. After withdrawal from the front line the type served on with reserve units of the National Guard and, in an export version, with foreign users as well, among others in Asia and in the Middle East.
Work one element at a time and let the previous one dry, so that the wet pieces do not stick to one another. A smooth glossy base is essential, otherwise air will be trapped under the paper and the area will go gray. A bend over an edge can be managed with warm water and light pressure from a cotton swab. Keep softener for ordinary decals; it would damage this printed resin surface. Finish the cockpit with a matte overspray and bring out the frames of the instruments with dry paint to taste.
The accessory is supplied without the plastic model; that belongs to a separate order.
