A resin detail set from the Aires brand that refines the auxiliary air intake on a model of the F-4 Phantom II fighter in the E and F versions, in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but an aftermarket accessory for more experienced modelers. The parts are cast in resin with a fine structure and faithfully capture the open auxiliary doors and their inner ducts.
The auxiliary air doors at the sides of the Phantom's fuselage opened at low speeds and on the ground to ensure a sufficient supply of air to the engines. The F-4 Phantom II was an American two-seat twin-engine fighter and strike aircraft, one of the most widespread combat machines of its era, flown by the US Air Force, the US Navy and the US Marine Corps and by many allied countries.
These are resin parts for the advanced. Wash them in warm soapy water to remove mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks with a saw and clean up the surfaces. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways when sanding resin: the dust is harmful. An opening for the parts usually has to be sanded into the fuselage, so work slowly and keep checking the fit dry.
The set does not contain the model itself, glue or paints. It is meant to complete an existing kit in the given scale.
