An injection-molded plastic kit of the American carrier fighter McDonnell Douglas F-4J Phantom II in 1:48 scale from Hasegawa. The boxing represents the famous machine with the call sign Show Time 100 and offers finely engraved panel texture, a detailed cockpit and landing gear, missiles and drop tanks. Two canopies are enclosed, a one-piece one for the closed position and a multi-part one for the open position.
The F-4 Phantom II was a two-seat twin-engine fighter and one of the most important combat aircraft of its era, operated by the US Navy, the Marine Corps and the US Air Force. The F-4J version served with the Navy and had improved avionics and engines. The machine with the call sign Show Time 100 of squadron VF-96 became famous for shooting down enemy fighters over Vietnam and is one of the best-known Phantoms of all.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with liquid cement for plastic. Apply a primer before painting and spray the scheme with an airbrush in thin coats. Mask the glazing and pick out the panel lines with a subtle wash. The naval color scheme suits a suggestion of service wear and fading of the paint.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
