A detail set of the exhaust nozzle for the F-8 Crusader carrier-based fighter in 1:48 scale from Aires. The resin accessory replaces the simplified nozzle of a plastic kit with a faithfully rendered outlet with fine inner structure of the petals.
The F-8 Crusader is an American single-engine carrier-based fighter. Its single turbojet ended in an exhaust nozzle in the rear of the fuselage; a faithful rendering of the nozzle contributes markedly to the overall impression a model makes.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, separate them from the casting blocks and bond with super glue. The nozzle comes into its own with metallic shades and heat-stained transitions; pick out the inner surfaces with a dark wash.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
