The real subject

The F/A-18E Super Hornet is a single-seat twin-engine carrier aircraft which handles both air combat and attacks on ground targets. Against the older Hornet it grew: it has a larger airframe and wing, a longer range and angular air intakes, by which the two families are told apart at a glance. The folding wingtips, the rugged landing gear and the arrestor hook are a reminder that the home of the machine is the deck of an aircraft carrier, where there is considerably less room for take-off and landing than on a land runway.

Building and painting tips

Obtain the instructions from the corresponding kit. The air intakes and the ducts to the engines want careful filling and sanding of the gaps before the fuselage is closed, because you will not reach them later. Wash and degrease the plastic before painting. The gray naval scheme comes out best only with shades differentiated slightly panel by panel and with discreet accenting of the lines.
